More accurate answers from Open Library
Open Library now understands which government department you're asking about and keeps its collection of circulars, standards and publications current as they are updated. The result is more accurate, better-sourced answers, with the most relevant and up-to-date guidance surfaced first.

Draft and review method statements with AI (Pilot)
Two new AI tools bring method statements into Pyramid. The Method Statement Writer turns a short task description into a complete RAMS document referenced to Hong Kong regulations, including a 5×5 risk matrix, step-by-step work procedure, PPE schedule, ITP hold points and an illustrated safety guide, all in about a minute. The Method Statement Checker reviews a contractor's submission the way a senior Resident Engineer would, testing 12 technical areas and 14 safety aspects and returning a severity-tiered, code-referenced mark-up with paste-ready proposed revisions. Both are rolling out as a Pilot.

Convert a Bill of Quantities PDF into a structured Excel workbook
Upload a Bill of Quantities PDF and Pyramid rebuilds it as a proper Excel workbook: because it understands the BoQ format, it splits the document into separate bills across tabs and lays every item out in the right columns for item, description, quantity, unit and rate. You no longer need to run a full compliance check just to get the data out, and the new extract-only mode returns the workbook on its own, ready to download or open full screen.
- Codes — Open Library is now its own knowledge source for government circulars, practice notes and DEVB/CEDD press releases, with a department filter that surfaces press releases that were previously buried
- Ask — Chat no longer dead-ends. If one assistant finds nothing, Pyramid now checks your other assistants before saying it can't answer
- Connect — New API keys are automatically scoped to the environment you're in, so a key can't be created for the wrong one
- Check — BoQ checks now handle multi-column (matrix) rate items and deemed-included coverage more accurately, and flag out-of-section items
- Platform — Switching or creating an organisation refreshes cleanly, and new organisations have Projects on by default

BoQ Checker — automatic Bill of Quantities compliance checks
Upload a Bill of Quantities and Pyramid checks it for you — end to end. It reads the document structure, extracts every priced line item, applies the contract's preamble amendments, then matches each item against the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM). You get a clear pass/fail breakdown with each issue flagged as a missing item, wrong unit, or extra item.
Every finding comes with an AI explanation: what was expected versus what was found, the suggested correction, and the exact SMM rule or preamble amendment it was measured against — so a QS can verify the call in seconds instead of cross-referencing by hand. When the run finishes, Pyramid generates a downloadable report. What used to take days of manual checking now runs in minutes.

Your tools can now query Pyramid's document corpus directly using the Model Context Protocol. Any MCP-compatible client — Claude, Cursor, or your own agents — can search your documents and receive cited source links, without manual export or switching between systems.

The Pyramid API is here. Partners and DWSS providers can now connect their own systems to Pyramid in just a few minutes — then ask questions directly against their document database and get cited answers back, with no manual uploads in between.
Query your knowledge base with single questions, multi-turn chat with live streaming, or up to 500 questions at once with CSV export. Run compliance checks programmatically — ask "based on criteria X, Y and Z, is this compliant?" across a whole batch of documents and get structured results. Manage projects and upload, process, and download documents straight from your own systems — all secure by default with API key authentication and hardened request validation.
It's also a fast path to the Development Bureau (DevB) AI Technical Circular (Works) No. 3/2026, which sets new expectations for how consultants and contractors manage and adopt AI. GPT-5.4 — OpenAI's most advanced model with an extended context window — joins the model selector. Pyramid also now ranks answers by the effective date of the content itself, not just the publication date, so you always get the most current answer even when older documents cite newer standards.
